PARENTS' BREAKFAST
On Tue, sept.8, 2006 the school held Parents Breakfast where parents/moms had the opportunity not only to have breakfast with their children's classroom teacher as well as to make an acquaintance with other parents/moms. For parents and the teachers this event was a new and interesting experience. In the Primary class, Ms Patricia gave some hints to moms on how they can help their children in doing their homework. This is in line with the school program "Parents as Co-educators" through which we hope that school and home education can be in one tenor for the benefit of our students. Many parents expressed that this program could be developed in the future. We, therefore, would like to encourage all parents to participate in this program.

Trip to Seaworld, Ancol
On Monday, 4 th September 2006, St. Joseph International School held a field trip to Sea World, Ancol. The purpose of this field trip is to introduce children with social environment outside the classroom. Children can observe the real objects of aquatic life.
We arrived in Sea World at 9.15 a.m. When we all got inside, the tour guide showed us a quick tour around Sea World. Children could see many sea creatures there. They can also touch and felt sea turtles some even feel the baby sharks. After a quick tour, all children gathered in the theater to have games. All the winners got presents from Sea World.
The most interesting show was the feeding game. It was when the divers from Sea World feed the fishes inside the grand aquarium. Mr Riyan, the tour guide explained about what type of fishes to be fed to sea creatures and how to feed them. he children were amazed with the attraction.
Beforegoing back to school, the children had a break time on the beach in Ancol. They were sitting under coconut trees with the view of the sea enjoying their meal. Ms April, the principal, treated all the teachers meatballs for lunch.
Tired and exhausted we all went back to school one o'clock in the afternoon. What a day !!!

Independence day ( 17 August 2006)
Nationalism awareness should be introduced to children since they young. This is implemented in St. Joseph International School by its celebration of Independence Day 17 August 2006. another purpose of this events is also to strengthen the bonds between children and parents especially the fathers who have always been too busy working.
The school arranged this Independence Day event by also involving the parents because St. Joseph International School believes that parents are a part of the school team. The concept of everybody should be part of the school team can be seen in this event where the student, parent, and even the teachers took part in the competitions. There were performances from each class like singing, poem reading, and dancing. The Independence Day celebration ended with a potluck party contributed by the parent.

Identity Card
Our school will issue identity cards for all the student, teachers and staff. This is to ensure the security and safety of our students. We do not allow any student to be taken out of school unless that person can produce the school identity card. All the parent or maid who usually fetch the students home from our school are required to make the school identity pick-up cards. Each identity pick-up card will consist of the name and photograph of the person who fetches our student.
If the parents of our students decide to send other people who may not have the school identity pick-up cards to fetch our students, please inform the school about this one day before.
Visitors coming to the school will be required to report to the school security staff and will be given a "visitor's pass" in exchange for a valid identity card.
